Arcadegeddon Summer Update is Live

IllFonic releases its first seasonal update detailed in the Arcadegeddon roadmap today.

Arcadegeddon, IllFonic’s original IP and its first self-published title, landed on PS5 and PC via the Epic Game Store in Early Access on July 8, 2021. IllFonic included a roadmap with Arcadegeddon’s early access release to let the gaming community know what to expect between then and full launch in early 2022. IllFonic has released a couple of large patches addressing bugs and community feedback since the game’s launch. Now Arcadegeddon‘s Summer Update is going live today.

For its first seasonal update gamers can expect to see exactly what was promised and more. There are new tiles to each existing biome (map) creating even more options for the game’s procedural generation. There are two new weapons, The Scotsman and The Party Favor. Gamers can also now customize their keybinds for their mouse and keyboard. This has been a high priority item for the development team and one the community has been vocal about.

One of the main features in the summer update is the “repair” to the Battle Mode Machine in Gilly’s Arcade. What does this mean? Players can now enter PVP battles with their friends and/or gamers anywhere straight from the arcade lobby, not just mid-run in game. Do you have what it takes to rise to the top in the Battle Mode Machine? The summer update also features the surprise addition of Royale, a new gang leader from the FTW Gang. This means more challenges, a new surge gauntlet ability, and new customizations. Royale was intended to be a part of the Fall Update, but she was done early so the team decided to release her now. Not to worry another gang leader will be added to the Fall Update in her place.
